In the tapestry of 2023, every facet of my life underwent a transformative metamorphosis. From cultivating positive habits to confronting challenges head-on, the year was a mosaic of novel experiences and personal growth.
The journey commenced with the Acetech show, Ace HYD, held in the enchanting city of Pearls. This event, a highlight of the 2022–23 edition, was a testament to innovation and excellence. Following this, the Ace Reflect 23 added a layer of excitement, providing a comprehensive glimpse into the evolving landscape of possibilities.
One of the crowning achievements of 2023 was the opportunity to explore the diverse and vibrant landscapes of India. As a professional engaged in the dynamic world of travel, my job led me to traverse through previously uncharted territories. Each destination, a chapter in the narrative of my professional journey, unveiled the rich tapestry of India’s cultural and geographical diversity.

January,
I had the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Hyderabad, immersing myself in the intriguing world of the aviation industry. Each month brought a new adventure as I boarded various flights, expanding my knowledge and appreciation for the dynamic field.
While my stay in Hyderabad was marked by enriching experiences, the accommodation at an OYO hotel left much to be desired. Despite this, the charm of Hyderabad city itself proved to be a highlight, captivating me with its unique blend of tradition and modernity.
One distinctive memory stands out from my time in Hyderabad. On a particular day, I found myself diligently working until 2 a.m. IST. Exiting the venue, I encountered a challenge in securing transportation, leading me to embark on a two-kilometer nocturnal walk.
Eventually, I secured a lift to the hotel road, only to discover upon my return that my friends had inadvertently left the door ajar. This unexpected turn of events worked in my favor, allowing me to enter the room undisturbed and retire for the night. Such incidents contribute to the rich tapestry of travel experiences that make each journey memorable.
Feb ruary — SURAT / KOLKATA
In February, I had the opportunity to visit Surat, marking my inaugural experience attending a reflective show in the city.
During my stay, my companion Moin and I discovered a remarkable restaurant where we were particularly impressed by the tasteful premises and the delectable butter chicken. The establishment’s flooring, adorned entirely with stone carpeting, added a touch of sophistication to the dining experience.
Later in the evening, faced with a lack of available cabs, Moin and I embarked on a midnight stroll covering a considerable distance. Seeking alternative transportation, we accepted a lift from a fellow rider, only to find ourselves inadvertently led in the wrong direction. Despite our efforts to secure an Uber, we encountered difficulties, prompting us to resort to a rickshaw. It was not until 1:45 am IST that we finally arrived at our hotel, overcoming the challenges of navigating the late-night transportation landscape.
This unique travel experience in Surat underscored the importance of adaptability and resourcefulness when exploring unfamiliar destinations, making for an unforgettable adventure in the vibrant city.
Kolkata
Kolkata holds a special place in my heart as the inaugural city where I commenced my series of meetings. The satisfaction derived from witnessing a full turnout of enthusiastic students at the event was truly gratifying.
For me, Kolkata is a reservoir of classical music, serving as a poignant journey that reconnects me with the legendary Mohammad Rafi through timeless renditions like “Likhe Jo Khat Tujhe.”
The city’s historical ambiance and regal architectures have left an indelible mark on my sensibilities. Moreover, the timeless allure of Kolkata’s iconic sweet, the rosogolla, has secured its place as an all-time favorite.
In essence, Kolkata encapsulates a harmonious blend of cultural richness, architectural splendor, and culinary delights, making it an unparalleled experience for any traveler.
March — Vijayawada
Upon my inaugural arrival in the city, utilizing transportation services such as Uber and Ola proved to be a less-than-optimal experience. Notably, the designated pickup points for these services were situated approximately 1 kilometer away from the airport, introducing an inconvenience to travelers. Furthermore, an unexpected challenge emerged when some drivers insisted on cash payments despite the prevailing digital payment norms associated with these platforms.
In contrast, my experiences in other cities, such as Surat and Vijayawada, were characterized by a unique and enriching cultural adaptation process. I cultivated a newfound skill, which I fondly refer to as “Accent Adaptation,” wherein I seamlessly adopted the linguistic nuances of the respective locales. This practice not only enhanced my communication but also deepened my appreciation for the diverse cultural landscapes encountered during my travels.
Amidst these encounters, I took pleasure in maintaining my fitness routine within the hotel facilities. My commitment to physical well-being extended to the creation of a captivating gym reel, documenting my workout endeavors. April — Pune / Ludhiana
In Pune, I regrettably missed a few meetings due to prior commitments, but my travel plans aligned perfectly with an upcoming show. Despite the scorching heat that enveloped Pune this month, the silver lining was the opportunity to indulge in a refreshing mango shake — a perfect antidote to the sweltering climate.
What made the Pune show truly memorable for me was the remarkable display of teamwork in the face of adversity. The venue suffered damage from heavy rain, yet the collective effort of the team not only salvaged the event but also showcased resilience and dedication.
Returning to Mumbai by bus offered a chance to unwind and recharge. I embraced a deep, restful sleep, grateful for the comfort of the journey. This experience, coupled with the vibrant energy of Pune and the camaraderie of the team, made the entire trip a distinctive and enriching adventure, leaving me with lasting memories to cherish within the travel community.
Ludhiana
Ludhiana, a city that left an indelible mark on my travel experiences, particularly stood out for its luxurious charm. During my stay at Hotel Nirvana, I was immersed in an exceptional level of hospitality that added to the overall allure of my visit.
The hotel provided a splendid setting for my leisure activities, and I decided to challenge myself with a front flip in the pool — a first for me. While the attempt may not have been flawless, the determination to try and the subsequent experience were truly enriching.
My admiration for Ludhiana extended beyond the hotel, encompassing the vibrant atmosphere and the city’s unique appeal. However, one aspect that presented a slight challenge was the venue floor mapping at Hotel Nirvana, featuring two distinct floors. This architectural nuance inadvertently resulted in a diminished footfall, highlighting the significance of seamless navigation in such establishments.
Overall, Ludhiana, with its blend of luxury and cultural richness, offered a travel experience that I cherished. The mishap during my front flip only added a touch of adventure to an otherwise perfect stay, making it a memorable chapter in my travel journey.
May — KOCHI / AHMEDABAD
Kochi’s lush greenery, reminiscent of Guwahati, captivated me with its historical tales, offering a unique glimpse into ancient India.
Ahmedabad, despite its scorching climate, proved to be an energizing destination, and my visit coincided with an exhilarating experience securing tickets for the Qualifier 2 match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium — the world’s largest cricket stadium.
These two cities left me with unforgettable moments, blending nature’s beauty with historical allure and the excitement of a cricket extravaganza.
June — Chennai / Raipur
During my visit to Chennai, my memories are adorned with the delightful experience of savoring coconut water, particularly the refreshing orange varieties. However, what truly stood out for me was the unexpected rain shower during a local show, a moment that encapsulated the city’s unique charm.
In Raipur, I immersed myself in the vibrant atmosphere, appreciating the city’s distinctive vibe. The late-night gym workouts became a cherished routine, providing an invigorating way to conclude my evenings.
A standout memory includes engaging in the kickups challenge with Zain, creating a bond over fitness that added an extra layer of fulfillment to my travel experience.
These moments, combined with the diverse and enriching encounters in both Chennai and Raipur, contributed to a memorable journey that I am eager to share within the travel community.
July — Indore / Jaipur
I had the pleasure of staying at a captivating hotel in Indore during my recent travels.
The overall aesthetic was truly impressive, offering a delightful experience. While the swimming pool was a bit on the smaller side, the well-appointed rooms and the overall ambience contributed to a comfortable stay. Although I’m currently working on getting back on track with my fitness routine, I felt confident and rejuvenated during my time there.
One of the highlights of my trip was seeking the blessings of Mahakal in Ujjain and exploring the vibrant local markets of Indore. The visit to Rajwada Palace showcased the city’s rich history and beautiful architecture.
Additionally, it was my inaugural visit to a Gurudwara, where I was enveloped in the high energies of the sacred premises. Participating in the langar, a communal meal, was a truly humbling experience. Engaging in ‘Seva’ and personally washing my plate after the meal imparted invaluable down-to-earth values.
Indore’s charm truly came to life in my travel reel featured in the #travelwithkj series. This city has become a favorite destination, and I look forward to sharing more enriching experiences with the travel community.
August — Lucknow / Guwahati
Lucknow proved to be an immersive experience, characterized by its vibrant atmosphere and warm hospitality.
From savoring delectable local cuisine to indulging in a shopping spree for chicken curry, exploring the lively street markets, and relishing the diverse street food offerings, every aspect of the journey was meticulously checked off. A visit to the iconic Imambara added a touch of cultural richness to the itinerary.
The transition to Guwahati, however, marked an unexpected turn as the journey commenced with the unforeseen challenge of a missed flight. Navigating through Delhi, what was initially planned as a 3-hour flight transformed into a 19-hour odyssey.
Despite the extended duration, the journey was not merely a test of endurance but a profound learning experience, offering insights and lessons that added depth to the overall travel narrative.
September — Coimbatore
During my visit to Adiyogi in September of this year, I was deeply moved by the profound spiritual atmosphere that permeated both the Adiyogi shrine and its surrounding ashram.
The transcendent energy that enveloped the sacred space left an indelible impression on me, elevating the experience beyond the realm of ordinary spirituality.
The divine presence of Adiyogi seemed to resonate with an exceptionally high frequency, creating a unique and transformative ambiance.
For fellow travelers seeking a meaningful and spiritually enriching journey, the Adiyogi shrine and its adjoining ashram offer a remarkable sanctuary. The elevated energies present in this sacred space provide a conducive environment for introspection, meditation, and a deeper connection with the spiritual self. Exploring the divine vibrations of Adiyogi and immersing oneself in the serene surroundings of the ashram can be a truly transcendent experience, making it a destination of choice for those in pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and inner harmony.
October — Bangalore / BKC
In October, I had the privilege of participating in the acclaimed Bangalore Acetech and Mumbai Conclave events. The vibrant city of Bangalore greeted me with its adaptable climate, offering an ideal backdrop for both business and leisure pursuits.
The local tourist spots proved to be nothing short of exceptional, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit.
While Bangalore’s charm is undeniable, it is with the utmost respect that I acknowledge the profound connection I felt at the Coimbatore center of Adiyogi. The spiritual resonance of this location transcended my expectations, leaving an indelible mark on my travel experience.
Reflecting on my stay at the Justa Hotel in Bangalore, I couldn’t help but miss the serene ambiance of its pool. Despite this minor yearning, the overall experience was marked by a seamless blend of comfort and sophistication.
For fellow travelers, I recommend exploring both the dynamic cityscape of Bangalore and the spiritually enriching ambiance of Coimbatore’s Adiyogi center, each offering a unique facet of India’s diverse cultural tapestry.
Mumbai Conclave
Embarking on the journey towards the Mumbai Conclave has been a testament to dedication and tireless effort, with the groundwork initiated during the Bangalore event.
Balancing the concurrent demands of the conclave alongside the bustling workdays and nights in Bangalore, the execution of the inaugural conclave in 2022 marked a significant milestone.
Reflecting on the experience of the 2022 conclave, I find valuable insights for self-improvement.
The knowledge gained from last year’s execution proved instrumental in steering the 2023 preparations. However, despite the invaluable lessons, certain aspects remained incomplete up until the show dates.
As an enthusiast in the travel community, my commitment for the upcoming year is crystal clear — I aim to streamline the entire process well in advance of the show dates. Learning from past experiences, I am determined to address any pending tasks promptly and ensure a seamless execution for the next edition of the Mumbai Conclave.
November — Mumbai ACETECH
In November, the vibrant city of Mumbai played host to ACETECH, a distinguished four-day event renowned for its exceptional quality and packed schedule.
The show, meticulously managed, featured a prestigious Inaugural panel where I assumed responsibility for the seamless execution of the console. Additionally, I successfully orchestrated the grouping of Architects and Interior Designers for the prestigious GSA, creating a conducive environment for meaningful interactions within walk-in booths.
The event also witnessed the precise execution of award distribution, adding an element of recognition and celebration to this premier gathering. This dynamic showcase of innovation and excellence is a testament to Mumbai’s thriving architectural and design community.
December — Delhi / Nasik / Igatpuri
In December, my professional commitments took me on a journey across diverse locales, beginning with the vibrant cityscape of Delhi and extending to the serene landscapes of Nasik, Igatpuri, and Nalasopara. Drawing from my invaluable experience at Delhi Acetech 2023, where I took charge of the inaugural panel, I subsequently played pivotal roles in facilitating discussions at the IIID panel, Design District Panel, Design Conclave, and contributed to the Lighting, Design, and Automation (LDA) Panel.
Having navigated the bustling events and conferences, the need for rejuvenation prompted me to embark on a sojourn to Nasik. It is amidst the tranquility of this enchanting destination that I find respite, taking some well-deserved time to unwind and recharge. This interlude in Nasik serves as a momentary escape from the demanding pace of professional responsibilities, allowing me to appreciate the cultural richness and natural beauty that this region has to offer.
